FRIEDL PLASTIC ENGINEERING GmbH   

The formation of the company in 1980 was based on businesses with noise protection materials

and other products for isolation applications.

Shourtly out of that we start developing foam-products, mostly made from Polyurethan Foam.

In the following years a complete system for protection closures for lead cables, according to

special specifications of the former Österreichische Post, now A1 Telekom Austria AG, were developed, tested and

sucessfully established on the market.

Besides this productlines we produce a lot of products in plastics, mostly polypropylen and  a special rubber polymer for different applications in the isolation- and sealingmarket. This products were mainly used in Austria, but also in a lot

of other European countries.

The change from Telecom's forom lead cable to plastic cables and the addition from fiber optic cables required new techniques of protecting the different cable splice technologies. Todays and future-oriented specifications for closures

were created and ask for new products.

High standards for the reliability in service, beside the necessity of watertightness and easy installation procedures

were the challenges to develope a new closure generation.

The result was to come out with a new generation of screwable closures, which fits on all cable types on the

installationmarket for copper- and fiber optic cables.

To meet all necessary requirements of the different applications we developed and designed different closure systems, which we introduced succesfully to the markets:

• Electric Cables

• Copper Cables

• Fibre Optic Cables

FDM (FRIEDL Dosen Muffe - Can Closure) and MKM (Mechanische Kabel Muffe - Mechanical Closure)

are two independent systems, which will be used in the copper- and fiber optic market.
